A tutti i Maintainer/Registrar, vi informiamo che lunedi 25 luglio entrera' in funzione un nuovo servizio Whois accessibile via web, che andra' a sostituire quello presente alla URL http://www.nic.it/SR. Il nuovo servizio sara' allineato, nella modalita' di utilizzo e principali funzionalita', agli analoghi servizi Whois via web offerti dalla maggior parte dei Registri europei e non. La sua implementazione e' stata dettata, principalmente, dai seguenti fattori: - la chiusura del sistema di registrazione asincrono e la conseguente inutilita' di molte informazioni attualmente visualizzate, quali la ''data di richiesta'', la ''data di inserimento'', l'''ultimo modulo''; - la necessita' di uniformare i risultati, restituiti all'utente dal servizio Whois disponibile sulla porta 43 (whois.nic.it), con quelli restituiti dal servizio Whois via web. In particolare, questi ultimi non erano attualmente uniformi nel caso di nomi a dominio geografici, riservati, unassignable e nomi a dominio negli stati di revoked e to-be-reassigned (asincroni e sincroni). Il servizio e', inoltre, multilingue. Allo stato attuale le lingue supportate sono l'italiano e l'inglese e restituisce, di conseguenza, i risultati in italiano o inglese a seconda della lingua impostata sul browser. Il servizio sara' disponibile alla pagina http://www.nic.it/web-whois. Fino alla fine di agosto sara' comunque attivo un redirect da http://www.nic.it/SR a http://www.nic.it/web-whois. Cordiali saluti, lo staff del Registro .it To all Maintainers/Registrars, We inform you that on Monday, July 25, a new Whois service accessible via web will come into force and will replace the existing service available at the URL http://www.nic.it/SR. The new service will be in line, for what concern use methods and main functions, with the Whois web services offered by the majority of European and non-European registries. Below you can find the main factors that led to the implementation of the new service: - Asynchronous registration system closure and consequent uselessness of many information currently displayed, such as ''request date'', ''insertion date'', ''last form''; - The need to align the results, returned to the user by the Whois service available on port 43 (whois.nic.it), with those returned by the Whois service via web. In particular, the latter were not aligned in the case of geographical names, reserved , unassignable and domain names in revoked and to-be-reassigned statuses (asynchronous and synchronous). At present the supported languages are Italian and English and the service returns, therefore, results in Italian or English, depending on the language settings of your browser. The service will be available at the following link http://www.nic.it/web-whois. Until the end of August, however, there will be a redirect from http://www.nic.it/SR to http://www.nic.it/web-whois.
