by Registrars which have drawn up a contract with the ccTLD .it Registry 04 Mag '11

04 Mag '11

Cordiali saluti, lo staff del Registro .it =================================================== We inform all Registrars that on Monday May 9, at 13:00, a new version of the test environment of the EPP server (https://pub-test.nic.it) will be released. It will allow the Registrars to indicate an IPv6 address among the ip addresses of a subordinated nameserver to a domain name. It will be possible to indicate up to 2 IP addresses for each nameserver, while maintaining the constraint during this first phase, that at least one IP address is of IPv4 type. In order to verify that the specified IPv6 addresses are really associated to the nameservers indicated and that they are authoritative also for the new IPv6 address, the software for the authoritative namservers configuration check has been modified. The structure of the messages "DNS check ended unsuccessfully" or "DNS check ended successfully with warning" inserted by the EPP server in the polling queue, were not modified. 10 Dic '10

Cordiali saluti, lo staff del Registro .it ================================================================== To all Maintainers and Registrars, We inform you that we have published the new contract between Registry and Registrar for the two-year period 2011-2012. Anyway, while the contract is arriving to the Registry, we temporarily assume that you wish to continue to operate as Registrar, if the corresponding payments are regularly made. The .it Registry - in consideration of some requests sent from organisations representing the Maintainers and due to the fact that a great deal of Maintainers is still completing the accreditation procedures - has elaborated a deadline extension of the asynchronous system starting from January 1, 2011 till April 30, 2011. Please notice that, during such period, any technical updates implemented by the Registry for the synchronous system will not be available on the asynchronous system. [Registrars] [Ticket#2010101250011147] Aggiornamento piattaforma di test / Test environment update
by Registrars which have drawn up a contract with the ccTLD .it Registry 13 Ott '10

13 Ott '10

Saranno aggiornati, in particolare, i server EPP di test (epp-pub-test.nic.it, epp-deleted-pub-test.nic.it), il portale RAIN-NG (rain-ng-pub-test.nic.it) e il servizio Whois (whois-pub-test.nic.it). Cordiali saluti, lo staff del Registro .it ==================== To all Mantainers/Registrars, We inform you that on November 13th, a new version of the public test environment will be released. The update will start at 2.00 pm and will last approximately one hour. In particular, the EPP test servers (epp-pub-test.nic.it, epp-deleted-pub-test.nic.it), the RAIN-NG portal (rain-ng-pub-test.nic.it) and the Whois service (whois-pub-test.nic.it) will be updated. SERVER EPP The main change concerns the introduction of IDNs. It will possible to create and manage, on the test platform, domain names with UTF8 characters. Moreover, it will be possible to use for the domain name you wish to register, non-ASCII characters belonging to Italian, French and German. The supported characters are in attachment. IDNs are not accepted for the names of nameservers and for the email addresses of the contacts. In such cases, if it is necessary to indicate an IDN domain name, the Puny code encoding should be used. RAIN-NG PORTAL A new version of the RAIN-NG test portal has been implemented; in addition to a completely renewed interface it has the following main features: - possibility to recharge the "fake" credit with credit card; - possibility to carry out searches for domain names contacts, to obtain more information and more details on the searches for domain names and IDN support in domain names searches (both in UTF8 and Puny code); - tool for the conversion from native characters to Puny code and vice versa; - improvement of the management of payments and invoices and the possibility to visualize invoiced events before the final invoice is issued; - management of the contacts associated to the Registrar; - visualization of events related to the Registrar such as: issuing of invoices, approval of payments, registrar status modifications and so on. 26 Apr '10

Domenico Laforenza ============================================================================= To all Maintainers/Registrars, we would like to inform you once again a great deal of users notices are arriving at the Registry: the users have received some letters from another entity, the so-called "Registro italiano in Internet per le imprese", which, through surface-mail mailings, (seemingly to ask the verifications of the data dealing with user activities) proposes a contract to adhere to in order to receive a service after payment. The Institute of Informatics and Telematics of the CNR and the .it Registry are not in the least involved with this initiative and have prepared again the necessary actions to protect any rights that might have been infringed. The Italian Competition Authorities (http://www.agcm.it) has repeatedly issued fines - for analogous initiatives as case in point of misleading messages - against DAD Deutscher Adressdienst. We therefore suggest you to assume the diligent responsibility of informing your clients and giving them adequate information in this regard. The Head of the .it Registry, Dott.
