A tutti i Registrar, come preannunciato alcune settimane fa, a partire dal giorno 11 luglio sara' possibile registrare nel .it gli Internationalized Domain Names (IDN). L'apertura delle registrazioni IDN e' fissata per le ore 14:00 dell'11 luglio. Le operazioni relative agli IDN saranno accettate SOLO sulla piattaforma EPP ad esse dedicata, denominata epp-idn.nic.it. La piattaforma epp-idn.nic.it sara' attiva dalle ore 14:00 del giorno 11 luglio sino alle ore 14:00 del giorno 18 luglio. Durante tale periodo, sara' possibile effettuare, su tale piattaforma, tutte le classiche operazioni sui nomi a dominio, ad eccezione delle operazioni di "transfer domain", "transfer-trade domain" e "trade domain". Sara' possibile effettuare giornalmente fino a 3.000 operazioni di "check domain" e 3.000 operazioni di "create domain". Dopo le ore 14:00 del giorno 18 luglio, la piattaforma epp-idn.nic.it sara' dismessa e TUTTE le operazioni IDN potranno essere effettuate sulle piattaforme epp.nic.it e epp-deleted.nic.it, secondo le attuali regole di registrazione. Contestualmente al lancio degli IDN, a partire dalle ore 14:00 del giorno 11 luglio, saranno operative anche le seguenti modifiche regolamentari: - apertura delle registrazioni .it ai paesi SEE (Liechtenstein, Norvegia, Islanda) e allo Stato del Vaticano, alla Repubblica di San Marino e alla Confederazione Svizzera; - riduzione del periodo di pendingTransfer da 5 a 3 giorni.
